So today is the day we all have to come up with some sort of New Year's resolution -- a secret (or not so secret) promise to ourselves to most likely achieve a certain goal during the new year. I'm sure a lot of you are joining gyms and beginning diets and swearing off MTV's Jersey Shore, but what about us film geeks? What are your New Year's resolutions? Perhaps in 2010 you want to try to watch more films, or more foreign films, or catch up on a number of films you've never seen before? Maybe you want to spend less money on your film obsession, or more money on random fan-made Twilight gear? Maybe your resolution has to do with converting to Blu-ray or creating your dream home entertainment set up? Whatever it is, I'm sure you've thought long and hard about it, and we want to hear what it is.
My New Year's resolution is to select a group of 5-10 directors whose films I either haven't seen or haven't seen in awhile, and watch them all throughout the year. First up is Alfred Hitchcock since I received a Hitchcock box set for Christmas. I also want to try my best to go into every film I see with a positive attitude, looking hard for reasons to like it instead of reasons to not like it, either because buzz on it was really bad or because I disliked the advanced marketing materials (ie: trailers, images, etc...).
What about you? Give us your film-related New Year's resolution in the comments section below.
