Is there any octogenarian actor able to continually top his own high level of coolness like Sir Christopher Lee? The recently knighted 87-year old actor will be singing the part of Charlemagne in a symphonic heavy metal concept album from Marco Sabiu.
Charlemagne: By The Sword And The Cross will be released on March 15, 2010, but you can hear samples of the songs on the album's official site. When I first heard about the project on StarWars.com, I assumed Lee would only be providing narration, but, no, he's belting out showtune-styled rock opera musical numbers like he's auditioning for the Great White Way!
Lee is best known for playing the lead in Hammer's long-running Dracula movie series as well as Count Dooku in the Star Wars prequel trilogy and The Lord of the Rings' evil wizard Saruman. This March, he lends his unmistakable voice to Tim Burton's upcoming Alice in Wonderland and appears with Nicolas Cage and Ron Perlman in the horror/thriller Season of the Witch.
