Supernaturalis arguably my favorite show on television. I've been a fan since the first episode and followed the exploits of Sam and Dean Winchester in an almost religious way for the past four-and-a-half years. The fifth season, (new episodes resume airing on the CW this January 21st) may be the best yet--but it's been a bittersweet experience for longtime fans. Show creator Erik Kripke has often hinted that the series would have a five year run and then end with some sort of conclusion that would presumably wrap things up once and for all. Knowing the end of the line could be just a few months away almost makes it hard to enjoy the current crop of episodes.

The good news is that rumors of the show's impending end may be premature. Ratings are up this year and CW head honcho Dawn Ostroff told EW that Kripke is considering signing on for a sixth season.

"I think he's in that state of mind," she says. "I had lunch with Eric the other day and he's really excited about the show right now. I think he feels this season has been really satisfying for him. He's certainly not running out of ideas by any stretch of the imagination."

For me, this is like the best belated Christmas gift ever. I have no clue where a sixth season goes, but I'd certainly tune in to find out. Hopefully stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles are up for another round of demon-slaying. We'll keep you posted as more details emerge. Check out Supernatural as part of the CW's Thursday night line-up.
