Legendary Pictures' project, The Lost Patrol, has picked up steam by snatching up director Stephen Norrington. Norrington directed Blade and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, so chances are there will be some nifty gadgets.
So what it's a supernatural action thriller, there is promise of hardware. A gal can hope, can't she?
The Hollywood Reporter reports that Norrington's enthused about the project because it hit all of his "geek-buttons" and contains "hardware, heroes, grime, insane monsters." Norrington has also done creature effects on several productions, including two Alien films. Norrington is also developing a new version of The Crow (for Relativity).
Not that I know for sure, as the plot is being kept under wraps, other than a description of a "supernatural action thriller set against the backdrop of World War II."
Rick Porras and Steven Boyd are producing; Porras was a producer on The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Boyd and Porras were both producers on Contact.
