We're about a week away from the After Dark Horrorfest 4 lineup which runs for one week, starting January 29. One of the more interesting additions to the festival is the Norwegian psychological horror film, Hidden (Skjult) by director Pål Øie. You can check out the recently released trailer after the jump.
"Kai Koss, upon the death of his cruel mother, unwillingly returns to the small town he ran away from 19 years ago. He is left in charge of the family home and the dark secrets that come with it. Kai soon finds himself tangled up in a series of murderous events that are beyond anyone's control and his troubles begin to overwhelm him. He has spent the past two decades trying to forget a tortured past only to find that there are some things you just can't run from."
Protagonist with a kick ass name? Check. Creepy dolls and a spooky house? Check. Dead mother who haunts your every move? Check. I'd say there are a few good things to latch on to with this one. Also, Kristoffer Joner is a solid lead actor who is perfectly suited for for this sort of dark and twisted tale. Check him out in another psychological thriller, Naboer (Next Door).
Is this one on your list for the festival?
