If you live in or around New York City, you're probably sick to death of that Jay-Z and Alicia Keys song "Empire State of Mind". It became the unofficial anthem of the city back when the Yankees won the World Series, and till this day you can't spend more than 15 minutes in a hip clothing store without hearing it blare out the speakers. Thankfully the radio stations have slowed it down a little; something tells me death threats were received after non-stop play for months. (Okay, I still enjoy listening to it and kinda leave the station on whenever it's playing, but whatever -- it's addictive. Damn you Jay-Z, and you're whole figuring out ways to make pretty decent cool kids music!)
Speaking of anthems, though, the folks over at College Humor have used Jay-Z's song for one of the geekiest (and well-made) musical tributes to the Star Wars franchise I have ever seen. Darth Vader replaces Jay-Z and a somewhat jerky, awkward moving Princess Leia replaces Alicia Keys in this music video called "Galactic State of Mind". Essentially, imagine the same Jay-Z song, but with some pretty badass Star Wars lyrics instead. I think this might be the best thing you watch all day. Yeah, I think it might. Check it out after the jump, along with all the lyrics, and let us know what you jaded Star Wars fans think. Is this where you draw the line, or will you be throwing this on in the background tonight for motivation as you try to woo your own Princess Leia?
