The Platinum Dunes remake of Wes Craven's A Nightmare on Elm Street is right around the corner--and just in case you forgot, here are two new YouTube clips promoting the return of one Fred Krueger.
First up is a new trailer that appeared before Clash of the Titans. Early word is that there are no plans to release it online, so you'll have to make do with this shaky bootleg version. Of course, if you're a true old-skool horror fan, you're used to grainy, shaky bootleg versions--so just consider this a trip down memory lane.
The new preview starts off like the last one, but about halfway through it shifts gears and introduces some new footage. If you've been hankering to spend more quality time with Freddy, this should help tide you over until the official release.
The second clip is a TV spot that's been airing over the weekend. It's 34 seconds of Freddy and should allow everyone to decide once and for all if they can live with Jackie Earle Haley's voice for the character. My reaction? Yeah--I can live with it.
Haley takes over the role made famous by Robert Englund in Sam Bayer's remake of the classic slasher film. Rooney Mara, Kyle Gallner, Thomas Dekker, and Clancy Brown (!) co-star. Freddy will be invading theaters--and nightmares--nationwide on April 30th. Jump past the break to peep the new clips.
