I hate to come across as hyperbolic from a mere plot description. I really do. The thing is, I spend an awful lot of time reading about sci-fi movie news, about all film's major and minor in the production pipeline. Accordingly I tend to get excited from time to time about certain announcements, be they directorial attachments or mere concepts. That said, Andrew Niccol'sI'm Mortal just rocketed to the top of my Please, Please, Please Let This Movie Be Made list. Read Heat Vision's plot synopsis and you'll know why:

"The story is set in the not-too-distant future where the aging gene has been switched off. To avoid overpopulation, time has become the currency and the way people pay for luxuries and necessities. The rich can live forever, while the rest try to negotiate for their immortality. The protagonist is a poor young man who comes into a fortune of time, though too late to help his mother from dying. He ends up on the run from a corrupt police force known as 'time keepers.'"
