Animation is getting a little taste of the Foxx. According to Variety, Jamie Foxx is teaming with 20th Century Fox Animation to whip up a new animated film called Welcome to the Jungle. The actor came up with the pitch with the help of scribe Malcolm Spellman, and he will produce, star as lead voice, and write original music for the film while Spellmen pens the script.

Like any super-new feature, Foxx is keeping the plot a secret, but Spellman did offer this little tidbit: "Life is a jungle and welcome to it." My guess: Welcome to the Jungle will be an animated movie where real life is filled with the animals of the jungle, not so much an animated tale of Axl Rose and Guns 'n Roses. However, don't be surprised if their iconic song pops up. Spellman also noted that the film is "specifically built to utilize Jamie's talent with voices and as a musician." Could the movie have that title, and singing, and not include the hit song? That'd be a tease, even if the film is already full of original Foxx tunes.

For a man jumping between romantic fluff and dark action, this is quite a twist -- especially since this project will mark his first steps into cinematic animation. But hey, anything's better than Valentine's Day, right?
