Though we have a hard enough time reading about how Johnny Depp makes more money while in the bathroom for five minutes than 1500 of us will make during our entire lifetimes combined, the good folks over at Forbes -- always ready and willing to point out who's bringing home the big bucks -- have gone and revealed their annual list of the 15 Richest Fictional Characters ... because, well, it's less depressing when we realize that the people who have all this money actually don't exist. And, like practically every other list that's come out over the course of the past two years, a character from the Twilight series has somehow found their way at the top. This time it's Carlisle Cullen (played by Peter Facinelli in the films), who, at the age of 370, has accumulated a fortune of $34.1 billion. And it only took him 370 years.
Coming in at number two is Scrooge McDuck (my personal favorite fictional billionaire), followed not-so-closely behind by Richie Rich, Tony Stark and Jed Clampett. Elsewhere on the list is Adrian "Ozymandias" Veidt (from Watchmen), Bruce Wayne, the Tooth Fairy (hey, I guess she's getting all that money from somewhere, right?), Montgomery Burns and Jay Gatsby. Surprisingly Willy Wonka isn't anywhere on there -- I would've thought his candy empire would be worth somewhere in the millions. Then again, any list that includes the Tooth Fairy and Richie Rich probably shouldn't be taken too seriously.
We've posted the entire 15 after the jump. Let us know if you think they're missing someone.
