[Welcome to the Sci-Fi Lunch Break, where we'll be occasionally supplying you with a cool bit of audio/visual goodness to break up the monotony of the work day. You bring the turkey on rye, we'll bring you something out of this world to watch while you eat it.]
I've never been to The World Science Fiction Convention, lovably called Worldcon, but it's always something I've wanted to do. The convention, which is where the Hugo Awards take place, has been around since the 1930's. Every year Worldcon takes place in a different city around the world (this year it will be in Melbourne, Australia), which is kind of a big deal for sci-fi fans in the host city.
A group in England have begun a campaign to have the 2014 Worldcon hosted in London and to promote said campaign they created this great little montage of clips of the historic city being attacked by all manner of sci-fi conventions. A lot of these clips are actually from Doctor Who episodes, but there's still plenty to be enjoyed for non-Who fans. Check it out below.
