Yes, folks. We wondered what Kathryn Bigelow would tackle after her award-winning The Hurt Locker -- the film that earned her the honor of the first female Best Director Oscar winner ever -- but none of us guessed this: she's tackling makeup. Production Weekly's Twitter Feed broke the news, stating: "Kathryn Bigelow to direct Jessica Biel in a Revlon lipstick commercial next month in L.A."

Now I don't want to just jump on Biel and berate her, but especially after Valentine's Day, I've got to shout: "What in the frak is Bigelow thinking?!" Biel + lipstick doesn't equal awesome, or something even remotely worthy of a recent Oscar winner. Bigelow wins a great honor and then decides that it would be a good idea to shoot a short with Biel playing around with lipstick? At least those car commercials that big directors swarm to are fun and adventurous. If she tries to make a commercial with a similar theme, but focused on lipstick? I shudder to think.

Let's hope and pray that this is just some sweet, large paycheck Bigelow plans to cash and throw into a more worthy Hurt Locker follow-up. Otherwise, she may have found just the thing to hurt more than the Locker.
