J.J. AbramsJ.J. Abrams' upcoming film 'Super 8' will have nothing to do with 'Cloverfield,' the Emmy-winning director ('Lost,' 'Star Trek') told NY Mag's Vulture blog.

"You have to check [out the trailer] ... " he told Vulture. " ... "I won't be able to tell you until it's done."

HitFix first reported on the trailer earlier this week, sparking rumors that the film would be a sequel to 'Cloverfield,' which hit theaters in January 2008 amidst a flurry of Internet buzz and went on to gross over $170 million, worldwide.

UPDATE:
EW.com has confirmed an earlier report from Deadline, which revealed new details on the movie. The film was reportedly written and directed by Abrams and produced by Steven Spielberg, and will be an homage to the films he loved as a teenager.
