Canadians have a superhero. His name is Furious Pete. The Toronto-based, prize-winning competitive eater and his somewhat-revolting technique of ingesting massive amounts of food is the subject of director George Tsioutsioulas' world premiere film at Hot Docs -- 'The Story of Furious Pete'.

It isn't hard to imagine that professional eaters have a history of dysfunction in their lives. Anyone who can down a dozen hot dogs, a couple rib racks, or a tray of Buffalo wings in 60 seconds probably has a few good war stories to tell. Furious Pete makes for a particularly interesting study, as he is a man of extremes.
