Some books just have to be made over and over again on the big screen. H. Rider Haggard's Allan Quatermain novels fall into that category, with the latest iteration being put together by DreamWorks, with Sam Worthington set to play the title role. This time around, however, the story line will shift from the jungles of Africa in the two Quatermain novels -- 'King Solomon's Mines' and 'Allan Quatermain' -- to the future, at a time when humans have left the Earth and the Quatermain character returns from outer space for a "King Solomon's Mines"-style adventure, according to The Hollywood Reporter HeatVision blog. The first Allan Quatermain was made in 1919; the most famous was 1950's 'King Solomon's Mines' with Stewart Granger and Deborah Kerr; the most well-know probably the Richard Chamberlain-starring 'King Solomon's Mines' (1985) and 'Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold' (1986).
