Those who know my film tastes should know that I'm kind of addicted to Korean cinema. I don't watch nearly as much of it as I did back in college, but I still like to keep tabs on what's going on on the other side of the film world. I particularly like to keep tabs on a select group of Korean filmmakers, my favorite being A Tale of Two Sisters, A Bittersweet Life, and The Good, The Bad, The Weird director Ji-woon Kim. And now, thanks to the fantastic 24FramesPerSecond, we have a teaser trailer for Kim's next film, I Saw the Devil.
With a title like that I would love to be able to tell you this is some kind of Korean exorcism flick, but it's not. It's the story of a simple man (the fantastic Byung-hun Lee) who plots revenge against the man who killed his girlfriend (Oldboy's Min-sik Choi). So while the premise may not be the most original, that doesn't really matter because as you'd expect from Ji-Woon Kim, it all looks amazing.
