Perhaps it's because I never got around to watching Lost Boys 2: The Tribe, but my expectations for what a Lost Boys 3 film would look like were quite low. I'm really not even sure what I was expecting, but having now watched Dread Central's debut of the trailer for the film, I must say I'm kind of intrigued. This looks like a well-made, straight-to-video action movie that happens to have vampires in it. It looks fun in a very specific, very late night cable kind of way. And those are precisely the kind of films that I love to gobble up.

However, after watching the trailer and being pleasantly surprised, I read the official synopsis for it. I'll give five Internet dollars to the first person who can guess what part of this pitch sundered any good will the trailer may have earned with me:

"When veteran vampire hunter Edgar Frog finds himself destitute and almost friendless, he thinks his life has hit bottom - but wealthy vampire-romance novelist Gwen Liebling offers him a small fortune to go on the vampire hunt of a lifetime and rescue her son Peter from the Alpha Vampire D.J. Dusk. With the help of his friends Zoe, Lars, and Blake, Edgar heads into a bloody battle to exterminate evil."

If you guessed "Alpha Vampire D.J. Dusk" then you, sir or madam, are absolutely correct. His first name might simply be "D.J.", but that's not what my brain assumes. There's just something about the idea of vampire having to interrupt his villainous duties to spin a set at a club that cracks me up. Check out the trailer below and do let us know what you think of it.
