The Blues Brothers posterLittle did you know that they had a film review office but the Vatican, via their official newspaper L'Osservatore Romano, have given their blessing to 1980 musical comedy The Blues Brothers and declared it a 'Catholic classic'.

The John Landis-directed cult favourite stars John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd as two brothers (obviously) who go on a 'mission from God' to save a local Catholic orphanage from closure. They attempt to do this by reforming their rhythm and blues band whilst avoiding the cops, neo-Nazis and a Country and Western band, all of whom are on their tail. The film is renowned for its appearances by some classic Soul/R'n'B artists such as James Brown, Aretha Franklin and John Lee Hooker.
