A bit belated but here they are...

Best of the New Releases: The Horseman

While some wouldn't consider it "traditional" horror, The Horseman is a well-crafted Australian indie that is well worth your time. The story is fairly basic and straightforward, resting squarely on the shoulders of a father hell bent on revenge. After playing last year in both the Fantastic Fest midnight portion of the SXSW Film Festival as well as Montreal's Fantasia Film Festival, the film saw a brief turn on cable On Demand before it's most recent bow on DVD and Blu-ray. It's a brutal film that transcends it's low-budget origins. With strong pacing that ratchets up the tension, the film builds to a fever pitch. Definitely check this one out.

Also out today is a film called Terror Inside, starring Corey Feldman. The cover art boasts that the film is the winner of 6 (!) Crystal Reel Awards, which will impress no one. Can't recommend actually watching it, but now you know that it's out there.
