Robert Pattinson has gotten a lot of flack for his sparkly vamp Edward in The Twilight Saga. He mopes too much; he's too stoic; he makes weird facial expressions; he doesn't have fangs; what have you. Or at least, the most direct experience because claims that Pattinson is distantly related to Vlad the Impaler, the man who became immortalized as Count Dracula.

Reutersquotes genealogist Anastasia Tyler: "Tracing Pattinson's family back to Vlad was difficult research, but the pieces that unraveled created the perfect accompaniment to The Twilight Saga." It does come at a convenient time, doesn't it? Eclipse has reached its fever pitch as fans camp out for premieres and the film gets shipped to theaters for release next week. What a prime time to get the website some publicity.

But it's not just blood lust in Pattinson's past...
