Piranha 3Dwill probably not be a good movie. While some may be able to suppress their standards for outrageous fun involving blood, boobs and mutant piranha, I have my doubts. I absolutely despise Alexandre Aja in every capacity, 3D technology is beyond irritating, and it was written by the duo that wrote Sorority Row. Beyond this, all one can really expect is blood splatter and mutant fish jumping out of the water, supplemented by a lot of breasts. Despite it all, I do really, really, really want to love it just so I can have a valid excuse to buy this incredibly awesome retro-styled French poster, courtesy of the IMP Awards.

The synopsis is as follows:

Every year the population of sleepy Lake Victoria explodes from 5,000 to 50,000 for Spring Break, a riot of sun and drunken fun. But this year, there's something more to worry about than hangovers and complaints from local old timers; a new type of terror is about to be cut loose on Lake Victoria. After a sudden underwater tremor sets free scores of the prehistoric man-eating fish, an unlikely group of strangers must band together to stop themselves from becoming fish food for the areas new razor-toothed residents.

Piranha 3D stars Elisabeth Shut, Jerry O'Connell, Ving Rhames, Steven McQueen, Sage Ryan, Richard Dreyfuss, Christopher Lloyd and Eli Roth. After having its release date knocked around a bit, it finally settled on August 20th.
