It's here! This year's San Diego Comic Con -- which is the mecca of all geek conventions, in case you didn't know or didn't care enough to know -- has just announced the schedule for its first day, Thursday, July 22nd. No real big surprises to announce for Thursday (except for the fact that the studios are all piling it on during the convention's first day); Disney will be there with a Tron: Legacy panel (look for this film to battle Scott Pilgrim for the movie with the most amount of cool kid presence at this year's convention), while Sony will drop panels for Battle: Los Angeles and Salt, and Lionsgate will be doing something for The Expendables with Sly Stallone, Dolph Lundgren, Steve Austin and Randy Couture. Dreamworks will also be in attendance with a presentation for Megamind. As previously reported, Summit will be bringing their comic adaptation Red in for a panel, and Universal will pull out all the stops for a big Scott Pilgrim vs. the World panel to round out the day.

In addition to those film panels, Entertainment Weekly's annual Visionaries Panel will feature a two-man discussion between Joss Whedon and J.J. Abrams. Prepare for geek brains to explode five minutes in. The night will end with a screening of the latest Lost Boys sequel, Lost Boys: The Thirst, with Corey Feldman and Jamison Newlander in attendance to present the third installment.

Other Thursday panels to watch out for include the annual Masters of the Web panel featuring yours truly alongside some of the web's most prolific movie bloggers, editors and journalists, as well as moderators Edgar Wright and Roberto Orci. There's also a very fun-sounding panel called Geek Girls Exist featuring some geeky (and groovy) gals chatting about growing up geek and being a female at the same time. Crazy!

We've pulled out some of the highlights movie fans might be interested, so head after the jump to check it all out.
