Guillermo del ToroGuillermo del Toro sure has been in the news lately, what with his decision to leave 'The Hobbit,' then letting it be known that he was working on 'The Haunted Mansion' and a new version of 'Frankenstein.'

Now, according to Deadline Hollywood, he'll next direct 'At the Mountains of Madness,' an adaptation of the HP Lovecraft tale about a scientific expedition to the South Pole in the 1930s that awakens evil life forms that hold the key to humankind's evolution.

The kicker to the deal: James Cameron will produce in 3D. According to the report, the film will begin pre-production in the next few weeks, and shoot next summer for Universal.
