Harry Connick Jr., Ashley Judd and Morgan Freeman are testing the waters to star in 'A Dolphin Tale,' an inspirational animal story being directed by Charles Martin Smith for Warner Bros., according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film centers on a boy who befriends an injured dolphin who lost her tail in a crab trap. Through their bond and friendship, the boy motivates everyone around him to help save the dolphin by creating a prosthetic appendage. Connick Jr. will play a vet who rescues the mammal, Judd will play the boy's mother, and Freeman will play a doctor who creates the prosthetic limb. The film, inspired by the true story of a dolphin named Winter who was rescued off the Florida coast, will be shot in 3D.
