Yes, we've been on a bit of a Scott Pilgrim kick lately around these parts, but sometimes a piece of movie marketing comes along that cannot be denied. Like this new Scott Pilgrim vs. the World interactive trailer. AN INTERACTIVE TRAILER. Say goodbye to productivity for the day.

Let me put it this way: It just took me almost an hour to get through this two and a half minute trailer, and I enjoyed every single second of it. Pop up trivia, behind-the-scenes featurettes, all manner of random minutiae explained by the voice of director Edgar Wright himself in 16-bit form... it's the bastard child of a normal movie trailer and a DVD bonus feature, only you control it with the click of a mouse. GENIUS.

Pause the "i-trailer" to watch the making of the Clash at Demonhead concert scene, or to learn about the Evil Exes as they pop up in footage, or to watch that beautiful "Love" remix trailer, or to learn what a "combo" means in video game lingo... as if you Pilgrim nuts didn't already know.

Now normally, I might not necessarily want to know everything there is to know about a movie before it comes out. Packing this much info into DVD or Blu-ray release is certainly an Edgar Wright tradition -- and as a fan of his films, I've always been thankful for the added insights. So unless you've already seen the film (which I have, suckers) you might be warned to avoid obsessively touring this interactive time suck of awesome until afterward. Unless you just gotta consume every bit of Scott Pilgrim there is, to stoke the fire of your fandom. In which case, have at it. Just clear out your schedule beforehand.

Trailer after the jump...
