Oh dear, Mr Jeremy Hunt, Culture Secretary and proposed-abolisher of the UK Film Council - you've attracted the wrath of someone who really shouldn't be angered...

That's right, the latest person to show their annoyance at the decision to shut down the UKFC (brought on by massive spending cuts across the board) is legendary tough guy, actor and director Clint Eastwood.

Dirty Harry himself has penned a personal letter to the Conservative Chancellor, George Osbourne, the man who sits atop the national purse and who ultimately has the power to reverse the UKFC's abolishment (which, if it happens, will have a devastating affect on our film industry).

Eastwood wrote: I cannot stress how important the Film Council is to me. I have been following the news of its proposed abolition with great interest. The prospect of losing such a valuable resource is of great concern as we contemplate future projects.
