We're a society that claims to honor its dead, and there are strict laws in place to make sure the dead are properly taken care of. Families go broke paying for coffins and lavish goodbyes to their loved ones, all in the name of a final goodbye. But we know better. How final is final? Cemeteries get dug up and moved, time passes, and if your body is really, really old, it might get put on display in a museum, in the name of history and science. We might want to fool ourselves otherwise, but resting places aren't always final, and coffins don't always stay sealed.

A new list is making the rounds that tells the stories of famous people not allowed to rest in peace, including Charlie Chaplin and Sammy Davis Jr.
