The comic movies just keep on coming: Paramount has picked up film rights to the science fiction graphic novel 'Last Man Standing,' according to a report at DeadlineHollywood. Apparently, the Daniel LuVisi penned novel was a runaway hit at the recent Comic-Com, where it sold out within two hours. To keep the momentum going and to build an audience for a possible franchise, the graphic novel will be expanded into a comic book series for Kevin Eastman's Heavy Metal publishing. The story takes place 600 years in the future in an alternate universe and follows the adventures of Gabriel, an invincible soldier who's been created to help win a war for Earth against Mars. After winning the war, Gabriel returns to earth a hero, but is framed for an atrocious crime, imprisoned in a Level-9 facility, and then breaks out to wreck vengeance.
