It's stuff like this that makes me glad to be alive. Well, it makes me love life and also cringe at the horrors that youtube unearths. This isn't quite Meco's Star Wars rump-shaker. Nor is it quite the glorious terror of Gil Gerard's space disco, but it is beautifully awful. Star Wars has changed lives. No, that's not hyperbole. I believe it. It's also unleashed an onslaught of things better off left unseen. I could spend all day writing about the various things that Star Wars has foisted upon the world. It has brought us movies fueled by merchandise, schlock flicks like Star Slammer, and now this.

I don't know who Sarah Brightman is. I can't begin to imagine what was going through her mind when she recorded this song. I hope it was a blatant grab to cash in on the late 70's scifi craze. I just can't believe that someone would record something like this thinking it was an expression of their artistic mojo. So click past the break and enjoy some synthesized beats, teased hair, and copious spandex.
