If you've been following my work here at Horror Squad over the course of the past year, you know that I've been really looking forward to The Horde -- Benjamin Rocher and Yannick Dahan's French zombie flick. The trailers have looked awesome, which is why I'm puzzled about the almost unanimously negative reaction from people who've viewed the film. I'm sure we all know movies with great trailers that weren't good as a full length feature, but it's hard to imagine such a kick-ass trailer as this one leading to a ho-hum viewing experience.

I guess I can now find out for myself if The Horde lives up to my expectations or not, because the film has finally made its debut on IFC's VOD channel. For a few bucks you too can check out what happens when crooked French cops invade the high-rise hangout of a group of criminals and all hell breaks loose when the zombie apocalypse occurs in the middle of their showdown. Now cops and crooks have to set aside their differences to take on a common enemy -- the living dead.

IFC has released a new clip for the film -- with English dubbed for the characters. I hope the On Demand version is subtitled and not dubbed, because I really don't want to hear corny American voice actors for the characters. At any rate, the film is available now -- so if you've got a few bucks burning a hole in your pocket and some free time, check it out. First, though, hit the jump and watch the new trailer.
