Whether you love him, hate him or just get increasingly annoyed at his presence, Ricky Gervais isn't going anywhere soon. The latest news from the Gervais empire is that he's planning a movie version of his new TV show 'Life's Too Short' - and that's before it's even hit the small screen. Surely it must be a corker?

Coming to BBC2 soon, Life's Too Short is an observational comedy which, according to Gervais, is based on "the life of a showbiz dwarf." The show stars Warwick Davies, the famed 3ft 6in actor who first appeared as the Ewok, Wicket, and has subsequently starred in Willow and some of the Leprechaun horror series.

It will also feature cameos from the writing partnership of Gervais and Stephen Merchant, whose last film Cemetery Juntion opened in April. Gervais has said of 'Life's Too Short: "It's about his life – the life of a showbiz dwarf. He plays himself, we play ourselves, it's sort of like Curb Your Enthusiasm."
