Movies about exorcisms are hot again -- it's like I woke up in the early 1970s or something. The past few years has seen a resurgence in Satanic thrillers, and that looks to continue today with the release of The Last Exorcism. If the Eli Roth-produced horror flick leaves you wanting more, then fear not -- because Filmax, the company that brought you both Rec films, has you covered.

The producers of those two films are set to release Exorcismus -- an English language exorcism flick from director Manuel Carballo. As the title prepares to make its appearance on the festival circuit, the fine folks at Filmax have been kind enough to share a new trailer (thanks to Twitch for passing it along).

The film focuses on 15 year old Emma, a teenage girl like any other. However, things change for her when she starts to experience strange fits. When doctors can't figure out why these events are happening, the family begins to look at alternative ideas. Before you can say "demonic possession", dark things are afoot and Emma is fighting for her very soul.

The clip, which you can see after the jump, looks decent. I find exorcism flicks to be a subgenre of limited interest for me only because the films rarely deviate from The Exorcist'sformula in any meaningful way. However, if you like stigmata, toilets full of roaches, and elaborate exorcism scenes, then Exorcismus looks like it will deliver the goods.

We'll bring you more details on the film's wide release as they become available. In the meantime, enjoy the new trailer.
