Sometimes the United States misses out on the good movies. Despite being co-produced by Picturehouse Entertainment (a joint venture by New Line Cinema and HBO Films), Frequently Asked Questions About Time Travel (also called FAQs About Time Travel) has yet to be officially released either in theaters or on DVD in America. It was only shown on television in the U.K. (the other producer was BBC Films) and released on DVD in Region 2. But, for the next few weeks, if you have access to HBO OnDemand, you can finally, legally watch it in America without having to import it.
The movie is about three friends Roy (a nerd), Pete (a skeptic) and Toby (another nerd), that go for a drink in a pub after Ray (who is played by Chris O'Dowd, best known for his portrayal of Roy in The IT Crowd) gets fired from his job. While at the pub, they get caught up in some time travel hijinx, but I'm getting ahead of myself. If you can, check out the film this weekend, and we'll be back next week with a longer discussion of it.
