If by some chance you've been living under a rock, we are mere days away from one of the best film festivals in the world! That's right, the calendar FINALLY says September and that means one thing and one thing only...it's time for Fantastic Fest! I'm dead serious when I say it's better than Christmas for film geeks. My birthday happens to fall in September and it pales in comparison to the joy and excitement that fill me in anticipation of sitting down for another week of films at the Alamo Drafthouse.
This year is already shaping up to be incredible. The festival will kick off with the opening night film Let Me In, Matt Reeves' highly anticipated remake of the incredible Swedish film Let The Right One In. Following closely on its heels will be a screening of Sundance favorite Buried starring Ryan Reynolds stuck in a coffin for 90 minutes. I can't wait to see both of those as well as the wealth of awesome genre films from all corners of the globe.
Yesterday, Peter Hall clued us in to the third content announcement from the fine folks over at Fantastic Fest. You can read Pete's full post over on Cinematical, but some of the films coming our way in just over two weeks include the Bruce Willis-starring spy flick Red, Josh Hartnett wielding a samurai sword in Bunraku and Darren Lynn Bousman's Mother's Day.
