Tyler Perry
has assembled some of the best actresses in the business in his latest movie, 'For Colored Girls,' in theaters Nov. 5.

The film, which features performances by Whoopi Goldberg, Phylicia Rashad, Anika Noni Rose, Loretta Devine and Janet Jackson, is based on the play 'For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf' by Ntozake Shange, about what it means to be of color and a woman in today's world.

Based on the trailer, the film's serious subject matter could finally put Tyler Perry in Oscar contention. But will it actually happen? Check it out after the jump and decide for yourself.
