'Secretariat' Interviews'Secretariat' is based on the true story of the Triple Crown-winning race horse and Penny Chenery, the woman who wouldn't give up on him. The film stars Diane Lane and John Malkovich and was directed by Randall Wallace. Don't recognize that name? He wrote 'Braveheart,' one of my favorite films of all time.

I got a chance to chat with the stars of the film and get their take on horses, racing and their director. Lane told me horses were her totem animal and talked about being on set with these amazing creatures. (She was also very sweet when I told her my dad is her biggest fan.) Malkovich told me he doesn't exactly trust them and gave me some insight into how he feels actors should treat directors. Wallace talked about the challenges he faced filming races and why Malkovich is responsible for his career as a director. Check out the video after the jump.
