Venerable filmmaker Martin Scorsese may be stretching his cinematic reach and putting the finishing touches on a family film (of all things) with next year's 'Hugo Cabret', but his creative ties to organized crime still run deep. He wants to bring alleged Mafia hanger-on Frank Sinatra to theaters, his politics and bootlegging 'Boardwalk Empire' recently hit television and rumors descended last month that his 1990 film 'Goodfellas' would also litter the small-screen streets with crime.

If you think there isn't enough criminal-centric love pouring out of your sets, this nugget of news should please you: What was once rumor now looks to be fledgling reality, if we can believe the scribe of the 'Goodfellas' source material, Nicholas Pileggi.
