UPDATE: Harrison Ford's reps have since denied that the actor made the below statements.
Fans weren't thrilled with the end of 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,' but do they really need to see Indy die?
You should probably go ahead and take this nugget with all the grains of salt you can find, but gossip website Showbiz Spy is claiming that Harrison Ford is intent upon killing the world's favorite wise-cracking adventurer, though he swore we'd never see Indiana die only two years ago. According to one of those eternally elusive Hollywood insiders, "Harrison thinks it would be good for [Indiana Jones] to die and pass on his hat to his son in the next [sequel]."
For what it's worth, that same insider thinks that series creator / richest living Ewok George Lucas isn't particularly keen on the idea, but that director Steven Spielberg is considering it. Conflict! The insider offers that "George especially is resisting the notion but Steven is considering it. Funnily enough Harrison wanted the same for Han Solo in the final 'Star Wars' but George put an end to it. This time he doesn't have all the say though."
