With the new year upon us, the Oscar season is officially kicking into overdrive. Millions of dollars will be spent, hundreds of ads will be placed, screeners will be sent, throats will be slit, backs will be stabbed and so on and so forth. For the next couple of weeks, studios will stop at nothing to get a taste of the little naked gold man who is capable of defining a film's legacy (or add a nice boost to the box office take).
Although David Fincher's 'The Social Network' has been out for four months, grossed $93 million and earned nearly unanimous positive reviews from critics the world over (look at that astonishing 97% score on Rotten Tomatoes!), Deadline reports that Sony is planning a re-release of the potential Oscar contender this Friday, just in time for the DVD release on the 11th.
