It's one of those on-again/off-again remakes that we seem to hear about every few months, but then the talk stops. Well, now, according to Deadline, it looks like the long-discussed 'Logan's Run' remake may be hitting on all cylinders. Their report indicates that Ryan Gosling with be reunited with his 'Drive' director, Nicolas Winding Refn (who also helmed 'Bronson,' 'Valhalla Rising' and the three 'Pusher' films), and together they'll set to remaking the 1976 Michael Anderson science-fiction favorite for Warner Bros.

Mr. Gosling, who is riding a strong wave of performances in mostly indie fare like 'Lars and the Real Girl' and 'Blue Valentine,' looks like he's interested in entering the "summer tentpole" territory, and we're hoping this project works a lot better than, say, Christian Bale's attempt at a big, fat sci-fi sequel/remake. (Our apologies to 'Terminator 4.') Right about here is where we'd offer a handy little synopsis of the 'Logan's Run' story, but suffice it to say it's a very cool "chase adventure" that had lots of cool ideas back in 1976, and actually could work damn well with a few fresh concepts and a new coat of paint.

Those of you who are new to the whole 'Logan's Run' experience should definitely give the DVD a spin, but not before you check out Jacob Hall's first experiences with the movie, or the trailer after the jump.
