Summit Entertainment -- which made its fortune on a love story between a vampire and a human -- is branching out with a love story between a zombie and a human, and has cast hot British actor Nicholas Hoult ('X-Men: First Class' and 'Jack the Giant Killer' -- see below) as the film's star. 'Warm Bodies,' based on a book by Isaac Marion that will be published by Simon and Schuster's Atria Books imprint, centers on an existentially tormented zombie named "R" (Hoult) who begins an unlikely friendship with the girlfriend of one of his victims, starting a chain reaction that will transform him, his fellow zombies and maybe the whole world. Kind of reminds us of last year's ultra-low-budget flick 'Colin,' which told its story through the eyes of an angst-ridden zombie who wanders through the streets of London during the throes of a zombie apocalypse. There's even a love interest in that one. 'Warm Bodies' -- with a summer production start date -- will be directed by Jonathan Levine ('The Wackness').

Jonah Hill, hot off his critically acclaimed work in 'Cyrus' and 'Get Him to the Greek' and upcoming turns in '21 Jump Street' (which he is co-writing) and 'Moneyball,' is in talks to make his feature directorial debut on 'The Kitchen Sink' for Sony. The film, from writer Oren Uziel, chronicles the unlikely alliance between a high school-aged vampire, zombie and human as they try to save their town from invading aliens, according to a report at Deadline. The title of the film refers to the fact that Uziel has thrown every current popular movie menace into its plot.
