Triple-threat Drew Barrymore (actor-producer-director) is returning behind the camera for her sophomore film, a New Line romantic comedy that follows the ups and downs of the lives of a group of New Yorkers during a 10-year period. 'How to Be Single,' described as a multi-story film along the lines of 'He's Just Not That Into You' and 'Valentine's Day,' is based on the 2008 novel by Liz Tuccillo. Barrymore -- whose directing debut was 2009's female roller derby drama 'Whip It' -- is producing with her Flower Film partner Nancy Juvonen. [The Hollywood Reporter]

David Slade ('30 Days of Night' and 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse') has been tapped by Fox to reinvigorate the Marvel Comics superhero 'Daredevil,' last seen on the big screen in 2003 in a weak-kneed version starring Ben Affleck as the blind lawyer-turned-vigilante. According to reports, the studio is not planning on a reboot of the character but, instead, wants to continue the saga. [Variety]
