The worldwide distribution rights to writer-director Wes Anderson's ('The Darjeeling Limited,' 'The Royal Tenenbaums') latest film, 'Moonrise Kingdom,' have been picked up by Focus Features.

Like many of Anderson's films, 'Kingdom' features an eclectic, all-star cast that includes Bruce Willis, Edward Norton, Frances McDormand and Tilda Swinton as well as Anderson regulars Bill Murray, Jason Schwartzman and Owen Wilson. Deadline reports the film is about a young boy and girl who fall in love on an island off the coast of New England in the 1960s. When the couple runs away together, the secluded town is turned upside-down as residents band together to find the missing youngsters.

Focus International will sell the film internationally later this month at the Cannes Film Festival. 'Moonrise Kingdom' will hit theaters next year.
