The Cannes Film Festival opens today, but some very big deals are already done.

Red Granite Pictures has acquired the film rights to 'The Wolf of Wall Street,' Jordan Belfort's memoir about his days as a hard-partying broker and boiler-room runner. Red Granite will produce alongside Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way Films and EMJAG Productions.

DiCaprio has long been interested in bringing Belfort's story to the big screen. The actor nearly got the film off the ground at Warner Bros. several years ago, but his interest in seeing frequent collaborator Martin Scorsese direct led to a conflict between Warners and Paramount, with whom Scorsese has a deal in place.
