With 'Harry Potter' coming to a close next month and college officially on hold until further notice, we now have our first look at Emma Watson's non-magic-based role in 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower.'
Written and directed by Stephen Chbosky and adapted from his novel of the same name, 'Perks' is the story of a shy high school freshman in the early '90s named Charlie (Lerman) who winds up befriending two high school seniors named Patrick and Sam (Watson). They help break Charlie out of his shell by introducing him to their eclectic world of partying, music and living life.
The image first appeared on co-star Logan Lerman's Twitter account where he referred to her as "The world's foremost authority on style." Not only is this a big deal for fans of the novel who've been waiting patiently for this movie to finally become a reality, but it's a big, challenging deal for Watson as she starts to step out of Hermione Granger's shadow. Nothing like a teen movie about sex, drugs, brandy and suicide to help people forget about what a nerd you were in Gryffindor.
