So, is he or isn't he retiring? Well, at least for now, director Steven Soderbergh has one more project in the works. His upcoming action-thriller 'Haywire' has just been picked up by Relativity Media and they've even given the film an official release date: Jan. 20, 2012.

'Haywire' is about a female covert ops specialist (played by MMA fighter Gina Carano) who ends up being double-crossed by someone close to her in her own agency. And like any Soderbergh flick, this film features an all-star cast, including Ewan McGregor, Antonio Banderas, Bill Paxton, Michael Douglas and Channing Tatum.

'Haywire' is among several projects Soderbergh plans on completing before giving up directing for good, a point that he reiterated to Deadline yesterday.

Hit the jump to see what Soderbergh had to say about picking up the camera again and the challenges that come with making a new movie.
