It's comeback time for Jenifer Lopez. After a stint as a judge on 'American Idol' and a return to the pop charts with 'Love?' Lopez is now circling two films: She's in talks to star as the female lead opposite Jason Statham in 'Parker,' the Taylor Hackford-directed action film adaptation of the Donald Westlake mystery novel series, and is in negotiations for a supporting role in 'What to Expect When You're Expecting,' the Kirk Jones-directed Lionsgate film based on the bestselling how-to guide. Ron Howard is in early talks to direct 'Rush,' a Formula One racing biopic about Niki Lauda, the Austrian three-time F1 champion who nearly died in a fiery crash in 1976 but returned six weeks later to continue racing and winning until he retired in 1985. The film, being financed by Cross Creek Pictures, which backed 'Black Swan,' is being penned by 'Frost/Nixon' writer Peter Morgan. Howard, of course, got his start in pictures with cars, beginning with 'American Graffiti' (1973) and Roger Corman's 'Eat My Dust' (1976) and then directing 'Grand Theft Auto' in 1977. [Variety]
