Ryan Gosling is hot. After great notices for roles in 'Blue Valentine' and 'All Good Things' and upcoming turns in such high-profile films as 'Drive,' 'Crazy, Stupid, Love' and 'The Ides of March,' he's signed up to star in 'Only God Forgives,' a revenge film set in the worlds of gambling, boxing and prostitution in Bangkok, centering on a Thai cop and a British gangster hiding in Thailand. This will re-team him with Nicolas Winding Refn, who directed him in 'Drive' and is set to direct him in 'Logan's Run.' 'Only God Forgives' will begin shooting in November for a second half of 2012 release. [Variety]

Rob Cohen has been tapped by Voltage Productions to direct 'Bullet Run,' an action thriller about the head of an elite private protection team and his former CIA agent wife who travel to Iran to abduct a man who killed their daughter. When the kidnapping goes awry, they find that they have to keep the man alive and drive a fleet of high performance cars 200 miles "through a hail of bullets" to safety. This is Cohen's milieu -- though he directed such journeyman pictures as 'A Small Circle of Friends' and 'Dragonheart,' he really came into his own with 'The Fast & The Furious.' According to Deadline, Cohen will jump on this project after he completes the Summit Entertainment adaptation of James Patterson's 'I, Alex Cross,' which will star Tyler Perry and Matthew Fox.
