Talk about good timing: Peter Facinelli (the head of the Cullen vampire clan in the 'Twilight' series) had already acquired the rights to a book about Whitey Bulger when the mob boss was nabbed on June 23 after more than 15 years on the run.

Now, with interest piqued in the tale of the Boston mobster, Facinelli is going ahead with his adaptation of 'Street Soldier: My Life As an Enforcer for Whitey Bulger and the Boston Irish Mob,' by Edward MacKenzie and Phyllis Karas.

The film will tell the story from the vantage point of mob enforcer "Eddie Mac," who did his boss's dirty work on the mean streets of Boston.

Bulger's story was already told, after a fashion, in Martin Scorsese's Oscar-winning 'The Departed,' which was said to be been inspired by Bulger's villainous exploits.
