The gestation is over: Dennis Quaid has emerged as the last major cast member of Lionsgate's 'What to Expect When You're Expecting.' The ensemble comedy, which is loosely based on Heidi Murkoff's best-selling pregnancy manual, counts Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Brooklyn Decker, Elizabeth Banks, Anna Kendrick, Matthew Morrison, Chace Crawford, Chris Rock and Rob Huebel among its cast. Quaid will play Ramsey, whose much younger wife, Skyler (played by Decker) is giving birth to twins. The film, a look at the lives of four couples as they prepare to become parents, is scheduled for release during Mother's Day weekend 2012. [EW Inside Movies]

In an effort to shore up the ramparts at the trembling News Corp empire, Chase Carey, the conglomerate's deputy chairman and president and COO, may be appointed to succeed Rupert Murdoch as CEO. This according to Bloomberg Financial News, which quotes "people with knowledge of the situation" that independent directors, frustrated by the lack of information about the phone-tapping scandal, are pressuring the board to make the change. Carey has been a lifelong News Corp. employee, starting at Fox in 1988, where he served as COO of Fox Inc. and CEO of Fox Broadcasting; he later served as CEO of DirecTV, which News Corp once controlled.
